Gliding World Championships from my backyard

A bit of an aside from my usual sewing post.  The gliding world championships were held in the area of the last few weeks.  It has been amazing as quite often the course has them do a tight turn near us.  All I had to do was sit under the veranda to watch 100 or so gliders fly past. Tough hey?

One the last day there were a couple of gaggles forming which were interesting to watch.  A couple of the gliders also had con-trails, one was really spectacular.

Here are a few photos ( click on the image to enlarge them).

Normal programming will resume soon 🙂

  1. What a lovely way to spend time on your verandah. That vapour trail is impressive and seeing that many gliders at one time is quite special. We see the odd 2 or 3 when we travel but not that many.
