Eeek, I can’t believe it is March already.  Where does the time go?  So far I have made four items on my SWAP plan.

The first two are the prints that I made up in December.  One is a geometric print rayon that I made up using a slightly modified version of Lekala 4439 (review on PR).  Deciding on the layout of the print actually took more time than it did to sew it, but it was worth it.  I’ve worn this top quite a few times and really love it.  The print has shades of grey, pink, black, indigo and bits of brown so it goes with a lot of things already in my wardrobe.

The second print is a lot more painterly – mostly black with grey, dusky pink, coffee and lemon.  I made pants using Knipmode #9 Dec 2009 ( review on PR).  I’d been tossing up whether to use the print for pants or for a jacket.  I went with the pants as I thought I’d use them more but I’m not sure I made the right decision.  They are very bold.

A couple of weeks ago, I made up the dusky pink skinny jeans.  It’s another Knip pattern (Dec 2012 or 2013) that I’ve used before.  These were common to both wardrobe plans as I was still hedging my bets as to which plan to go with.

I’ve decided to go with the plan for the geometric print and work on the other plan over the winter.  The warp that I put onto the loom last week is to make one of the tops in this plan ( second from the right) using two different huck weaves.   The yarn for the weft arrived in the mail today so I’m itching to start weaving.   The difference between the new yarn and the failed warp yarn is like chalk and cheese, even though they are both sold as 10/2 mercerised cotton.  To make the postage worthwhile, I also ordered some finer cotton for the next project 😀

Last night I finished the straight leg pants (second from the right).  Made up in a pearl-grey linen using another Knipmode pattern (the number escapes me at the moment).
