Recently I drafted a pair of cycling bib shorts and have found them so great to wear. They have become my favourites and wear them in preference to the elastic waist type shorts. Yikes! Where has the year gone! Spring is in the air and the birds have been very active in garden. This swimsuit pattern would have to be my favourite. It is Merckwaerdigh BAD24. I love the design, especially the ‘flow’ of the black bands, and is very flattering. It would also have to be one the most comfortable suits I’ve worn and is my favourite to wear kayaking – lots of freedom of movement in the shoulders.

This paisley print has been sitting in my stash for almost a decade, never quite knowing what it wanted to be. Too short in length for a long sleeve shirt for which it was intended to be, and never quite suiting the summer shirt patterns that I tried to match it with.

I’ve been working on this knit blazer one and off for the last couple of months. This week I had a meeting in Melbourne and took the train down. With six hours on the train, I finished all hand-stitching the trim and getting the button sew on.
My latest scarf is a bit of a happy accident. Collapse weave without even trying 🙂 Collapse weave is where the fabric naturally forms peaks and troughs as though it has been pleated or shirred, It does that because of the tensions within the warp and weft threads rather than any treatment.
It started off with a skein of hand-painted yarn that I bought at a weaver’s market. It’s from the same person who dyed the skein used in my orange & blue scarf.
